This has been the best day thus far. It was an early morning getting on the road at 7:30 ; )
We took a 90 minute bus ride to Clinica Alabama in Granada and spent the morning seeing patients. The group split up into three groups: one group triaging patients, one group seeing patients and one group providing educational entertainment with skits that they had prepared in our planning sessions. The skits seemed to be the highlight of the morning amongst the patients.
Ben at risk for high blood pressure because he's overweight!
Sarah seeing patients with the primary MD.
The nursing students and med students put a lot of effort into these diabetes education posters and they were certainly well received.
Kaitlin, Fatima, Trisha and me
The afternoon was spent walking around Granada. This is a beautiful town. It was one of the first towns settled by the Spanish in Central America so there is a lot of beautiful Spanish architecture. It sort of reminded me of the French Quarter with the pretty colors and doors.
Mmmm... So tasty!
